With the implementation of the WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive) in 2007, which stipulated that certain heavy metal finishes had to be removed from the manufacturing process, Chambrelan were forced to re-examine new ways of replacing the traditional zinc plating which was deposited using an electrolitical process directly onto the steel section to protect the length from corrosion. Manufactured from cold drawn steel the R26 is the latest slide to offer a bi-directional movement capable of being used to access draws on either side of an application. Whilst the concept of bi-directional slides seems straightforward, design and manufacturing of these slides is more problematic than one would think. See more

Location: Melbourne, Australia
Application: Heavy Pumpers

Brief: Integrated received an order for a number of heavy pumpers, commissioned by the CFA (County Fire Authority). The vehicles for the CFA are designed to have an operating life between 14 pus years for Pumpers and 20 plus years for Tankers. Engineering specifications were set by CFA, which stated the load capacity of each of the draws. Specifications need to take into consideration ease of access by use of pull out shelves and draws by means of readily being able to pull the draw out and proving easier access and safer removal of the equipment from the vehicle.  See more
